This is a popular photograph on tumblr that everyone, especially teenagers, can relate to. For ex., on the bottom- left corner is an image of Ariel that is known from the disney shows, The Little Mermaid, that a lot of teenagers watched (and still watch) when they were younger.
A popular childhood TV show that is especially well known with 90's kids.
This sets a feeling of warmness and comfort, even on a sad-day in which one feels like reminiscing to their early teenage years.
As time goes by, moments will eventually form memories that will be reminisced and told from one person to another like a story.
The girl standing right in front of the tower captures the moment of sight-seeing new places and remembering how things "used to be." Perhaps now this area appears differently or is more bright and sunny in comparison to this photograph. Or, perhaps there is a building that one loved in the past and now has been remodeled.
Parents often gave their children this product to blow bubbles as children enjoyed blowing bubbles. Although this is often known as a children's activity, teenagers are still amused by bubbles, and adults may also join in on the amusement and feel nostalgia.
Remember swinging with friends and going to parks in the afternoon? Remember having recess, lunch and play time?
This image sets a mood that feels like a time to remember the past.
90's Kid Memories:
Elly Mackay
What does biology tell us about emotions?
Two scientists, Lamarckian and Darwin, appeared to always have had a disagreement regarding what biology tells us about emotions. Darwin believes that if one observes a group, one will follow. In comparison to Darwin, Lamarckian instead stresses that emotions can be inherited.
But, to what extent does Darwin's theory hold true within society's standards?
Society's conventional ideologies creates a set standard to what society would find amazing and in contrast, disgusting. But, is it true that if one observes a group believing in an idea, that one person would automatically follow the group? In some cases, this idea is evident. One does not wish to be wrong and stand out from a group and so it is human nature to agree that this song or work of art is beautiful too. Without knowing it, our opinions are shaped by our environment and society. But, there are still those that argue a differing opinion and maintain through to their beliefs.
Mackay is an artist that creates dioramas that she likes to call "little theaters" of the world. She uses a lot of warm colors that comforts viewers of her art, and her artwork is inspired by childhood imagination.
Mackay's Story:
Mackay's Belief:
To what extent is a home made item worth more in comparison to a famous work of art?
When a child, Mackay's imagination took her through a journey to and from school. From Mackay's home to her school, there was a hill that Mackay felt inspired by. As the school bus carried her up the hill, Mackay felt that she was leaving the "old" world and beginning a new world as the school bus went down the hill, into a whole new "world."
Well Mackay believed that a home-made creation is absolutely priceless in comparison to a bought- product. The priceless creation is just priceless as the person spent their time and effort creating a work of art. Writing letters are also more valuable then typing a letter, as one spends much time thinking about the words that will be put into the letter and writing with their own "specialized" penmanship.
Perhaps there is that favorite childhood food, toy, candy, disney character... that brings one back to their childhood.
