Unlike Greek that depicts nostalgia with words like "suffering," in Japanese, nostalgia is translated to the definition:
"to become a desired feeling."
This is interesting as different cultures present the word nostalgia differently. The Greek word for nostalgia appears to hold a more negative connotation in comparison to the Japanese version.

I chose this song in particular since it is rather calm and allows the viewer to open up their imagination. Her voice reminds me of serenity. Nostalgia is reminiscing back in time and one should reminisce at a slow pace in comparison to a faster pace. If one passes time at a faster pace, one may miss out on a memory.
This quote is by Mccullers and is a famous nostalgia quote that people reblogged and liked on Tumblr. I really like this quote, because it is contradictory: one misses the past but yet is excited for what the future holds.
This Tumblr post is reminiscing back in time when one was a kid. Crayons and the taste of colors are a few examples from the post that is childhood- related. Everyone dealt with colors when they were a little kid. Children are also often known to be "innocent," and this is evident in the post in the section:
"I would swallow my words because they felt better in my stomach than on my lips."
An adult that used to wear converse may reminisce to a moment in their teen years in which they wore converse shoes when one sees an image that reminds one of that moment (e.g. seeing another teenager wearing a new type of converse)
Almost all 90's kid remembers the moment when one had to choose their first Pokemon.
Even Facebook has like pages for people to share their interests and childhood memories, like favorite movies when one was a child.

Scientific Hypothesis from this Article:
If people are naturally, positively affected by nostalgia, then an increase in nostalgia in a person would result in an increase in self esteem.
But, to what extent does nostalgia play a positive role in one's life?
Nostalgia allows one to cherish the good old times and bring back desired memories.
Then again, one may feel down and even miss those memories so much that one becomes depressed with their current state.
